Track 2 - Barry Sloan

barryMeet Pastor Barry Sloan – one of the Key Note speakers: 

Barry Sloan, a mission partner of the Irish Methodist Church, has been serving in Germany for 20 years. He is Director of Evangelism for the Germany Central Conference. He is also part of the World Church team in London, serving as the Europe Relationships Coordinator for the British Methodist Church. Barry is married to Gillian, the girl he met in the first class of primary school. They both help run INSPIRE, a fresh expression of church in Chemnitz, Germany.

Barry will speak at one of the plenary sessions with the title:  
”Ladies and Gentlemen, the Church has left the building.”  His point is a missional one - being sent out, leaving the church building and going out into world and neighbourhood. 

Barry will also lead a track: 
"New Places for New People”. This track will look at how fresh expressions of church are reaching, serving and blessing people who are not being reached by traditional models of church. We will look at the theology behind the Fresh Expressions movement and then see what we can learn from INSPIRE, a fresh expression of church in East Germany.
