Extra Central Conference

Hereby a call for an Extra Session of the Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference is issued per ¶542.2 of The Book of Discipline (2016). The extra session of the Central Conference will be held Saturday March 18, 2023, 9.00-12.00 CET / 10:00-13.00 EET / 10:00-13.00 MSK. The extra session shall be convened online.

The extra session of the Central Conference shall be limited to acting upon two motions, a motion of the Nordic, Baltic and Ukraine Area Group on the future of the United Methodist Church in the Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference, and a motion of the Eurasia Area Group requesting the central conference to approve that the Central Russia Annual Conference, the Eastern Russia and Central Asia Provisional Annual Conference, the Northwest Russia and Belarus Provisional Annual Conference, and the Southern Russia Provisional Annual Conference begin the process to become an autonomous Methodist church following the procedure laid out in the Book of Discipline ¶ 572.

The delegates for this extra session are the delegates elected for 2020 General Conference and the 2021 Central Conference. (Judicial Council ruling no. 1451) The Central Conference office will be in communication with the delegates and the non-voting members of the conference and forward information regarding the motions, the order of business and the logistics of the extra session of Northern Europe and Eurasia Central Conference.

The Central Conference Council encourages the church to continuously be in deep prayer for the United Methodist Church.
