Online Prayer Service for Ukraine

Friday, February 24th at 10:00 AM Eastern Time / 16:00 Central Europe / 17:00 Eastern Europe

Friday February 24th marks one year after the Russian Invasion of Ukraine. During the past year, thousands have lost their lives and even more are severely injured, families have lost their sons, women grieve their husbands, children miss their fathers. Millions have fled and live spread all over Europe where they experience generous hospitality while they look into an uncertain future. While media attention is not remotely as intense as in the first months of the war, the situation has only grown worse, and the needs are deep and extensive.
When we reach the 24th February, we can certainly admire the courage and strength of the Ukrainian people as they struggle for their freedom, while they mourn their losses. Even more, the one year mark calls us to pray. Pray for freedom for the Ukrainian people and for a just peace. Pray for all those who have lost their loved ones, be they Ukrainian or Russian. Pray for all those who have become refugees or internally displaced. Pray for strength and hope.

On Friday 24th, the United Methodist Church in Ukraine invites you to a Prayer Service for Ukraine. Worship from Ukraine, Uzhhorod and Kamyanitsa - Prayers by Ukrainian and International Leaders - A short sermon by Bishop Christian Alsted.
